ProActive Training offers level 1 and level 2 courses in Strength and Conditioning available to undergraduate and postgraduate Physiotherapists, Sport Scientists and Personal Trainers.

Strength and Conditioning is a rapidly growing bespoke area of provision for sports people which uses resistance training and endurance conditioning to enhance and improve performance. A well devised training regime specific to the requirements of the individual will enhance performance and also reduce the risk of acquiring injuries.

With a level 1 qualification, you can work as a Strength and Conditioning Assistant and with the level 2 award then you can work as part of a team as an employed coach.

This course offers invaluable skills and knowledge for any physiotherapist or personal trainer looking to work in a sporting arena or provide an alternative service for private clients.

What can the Strength and Conditioning coach do?

The Strength and Conditioning Coach will firstly observe a sports person in action to analyse the movements and actions that are taking place in their performance. Through communication with the coach, athlete or players a sport specific action plan can be developed. The Coach will be responsible for planning the strength sessions in the gym designed with the emphasis of peaking for competition. Other key areas in their role include dynamic warm-ups, speed drills and plyometric activities into training sessions.
